About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Would that work??

I need to go Shanghai for 1 day. Coming From Manila. So I plan Manila - Shanghai - Hong Kong Manila.
Or do I need to have a ticket which ends in a different contry?

Well, your route is ok. Hong Kong can be regared as the third country or region under the 72h free transit rules.
