Declaring cash CNY 50,000

I need to bring CNY 50,000 to help pay for a friend's hospital bill. The hospital does not take foreign credit cards, so my best option is cash. How do I declare and what supporting documents do I need?

TJ, you can't take so much cash. According to the rules, you can take CNY 20000 at most. If possible, you can change the rest of money into a traveler's cheque or bring it in your debit card. Upon arrival, you can withdraw the money at Chinese banks.
