About:China Visa

VISA needed? We stop over in Beijing for more than 72 hours.

We arrive at Beijing on Wednesday at 10.25am from London. We are staying at a hotel in Beijing for 3 nights. We leave on Saturday at 7.30pm for Australia. This is 9 hours over the 72 hours waiver time period but on the same day as it would have been if our flight had been in the morning instead of the evening. Do we still need a transit permit for the extra 9 hours ? If so, is it a L type (tourist) or a G type ( in transit)?

Roy, as your transit time is 9 hours longer than 72 hours, you had better apply for an entry permit in advance, just in case. The G type is recommeded to apply as the application process is easier than L type.
