S1 Visa holder allowed to work?

Hello,
I will be accompanying by husband (Z-type holder) in china for 12-15 months from January 2016. During this time, I will have the S1 type for my stay.

During this time of stay (Over 1 year), I will be working from Homeoffice with my employer in Germany.
Is there anything with the S1 type, which will restrict this working allowance for me?
Are S1 type holders allowed to work (not in PRC) during this time?

Thanks in advance

Kim, S1 holders are not allowed to work. However, I am afraid that it's difficult for you to acquire a Chinese Z type.

Thanks for your quick reply.

To clarify, I will not be working in China, but only from Germany (Homeoffice). Can you please confirm again, that this is not allowed, even if I am not working for PRC?

Many thanks

Kim, I think I didn't misunderstand you. You meant that you would work for your German employer in PRC with your S1, right? If so, this isn't allowed either. However, the truth is that many foreigners actually violate the rules. For example, many guys who study in PRC teach Chinese people English. Some people who come with tourist types meet manufacturers to buy things. These activities are not in accordance with the entry permit they hold. But if nobody reports them to the local police station, then they won't have any problem.
