About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Flying from USA to Hong Kong. Stay 5 days then HK to Beijing

Will stay in Hong Kong for 5-6 days then would like to take the train to Beijing. Can I stay in Beijing for 72 hours without a Visa?

Hi Carole, you can't use the 72-hour free transit policy if you take a train to get to Beijing. To avail yourself of this policy, you have to fly in and fly out.

Thank you very much. The information I read wasn't clear and now I know the train will not an option. Will look into airfares from HK to Beijing.
