Can I travel other provinces in China when Beijing work permit/temp residence permit is in progress?

J, you can travel to other provinces. However, if you left your passport in the police, you should ask for a certificate as an identity proof. The certificate and pick-up form will be used when you lodge in a hotel, get on a train and board onto a plane.0
