About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Booking with different airlines, can I get 72h transit visa to Shanghai before my flight to Tokyo?

If I book a flight from Europe to Shanghai (roundtrip) and Flight from Shanghai to Tokyo (roundtrip) 3 days later with another airline,

Ticket 1:
Germany-Shanghai 5.Nov (here stay in Shanghai 72h till flight to Tokyo on 8.Nov)
Shanghai-Germany 10.Nov

Ticket 2:
Shanghai-Tokyo 8.Nov
Tokyo-Shanghai 10.Nov

Andy, it's ok. However, you have to make sure that your plane won't stop by any other Chinese cities except for Shanghai.
