Penalty for 2 week overstay on 10 year Tourist visa

Hello, I arrived in China on October 4 on a 10 year multiple entry L type. I am set to leave PRC on December 19th- 15 days over the 60 day allowance. I then plan on returning to PRC (with the same entry permit of course) in January. Is there a way or place I can apply or be allowed to leave on December 19th without any negative repercussions...or without there being any chance of endangering my re-entry with the entry permit in January? If I do this will it damage my chances of coming back in January?
Or should I just exit and re-enter the country before the 60 day expiration (around the end of November) before departing on December 19th?

Hi Jay, before the 60 days are used up, you can go to the local exit and entry administration office and see if you can get an extension for the stay. If you are granted with the extension, then you can stay until December 19th. If not, please do not challenge the regulations and overstay. This may lead your 10-year multiple-entry permit to be cancelled and have bad influences on your funture application. If it's the worst case and you don't get the extension, please exit from mainalnd to HK and re-enter after a few days.
