online ticket of forbidden city

I will be arriving at Beijing on 14 October about 10:30 am and will be at the imperial palace around 12. I was wondering if there is an online ticketing system? Or do I have to buy ticket at gates? Will ticket be available at 12 pm?

Yes, there is an online booking for the palace museum. The number of visitors are limited to 80,000 each day and only 40,000 tickets are issued online. If you do not book the tickets and buy it at the spot, I’m afraid you can hardly get a ticket at 12pm around. So I suggest you make a booking in advance.

Thank you so much for your reply. The only matter, do you know in which website I can buy ticket online? It is really appreciated.

This is Dylan from China. I know the website, and it is only in Chinese version. It seems that the Travel China Guide administrator blocks the links, so I cannot add it. But you can just search "gu gong bo wu yuan men piao yu shou xi tong" to find it out. Or directly ask your Chinese friend for help.

Thank you so much. I tried to register, but it requires a phone number and does not accept Australian phone number. I would very appreciate if you could help me for registration.

I know. U should input a valid 11-digit Chinese mobile number for successful booking. Sorry for that. If you don't have that, it is best to ask your hotel in China for booking.
