About:Beijing Transportation Smart Card

Beijing smart card refund sites

So for clarification, are only stations listed above the only subway stations that will process SmartCard refunds? Or can I get refunds at any subway station?

Yes, you are right. You can refund the card only at the stations listed above, not every subway station is available for the service.
