About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

2 Long Beijing Layovers. Do I also need a visa to go sight-seeing? Please advise.

I will be flying from Washington, DC to Tokyo next month with 2 long layovers in Beijing. On October 14th, my Air China flight layover is 19 hrs and on my return trip on Oct. 21, it's 19 hrs. They have made hotel reservations for me?

So your route is (USA-Beijing-Tokyo, Tokyo-Beijing-USA), right? If so, your route is ok for 72 hours free transit. Then you needn't apply for another one to go sight-seeing in Beijing.
