i have 22 hours layover in baiyun airportwant to know if i can get off airport

Am i allowed to get off the airport if I have 22 hours of layover. Can the airline hold luggage for me?I arrive at 10PM on Sunday and would like to go to hotel for sleeping and come back the next day. Do I need visa to get off airport?

Yes, the airline will transfer your luggage, so you don't need to collect it (do have the lugagge check-through service at the starting point).  You don't need a visa, either, because you will be eligible for the 24h visa free transit. If you are going to get out of the airport, you can apply for a stay permit in the airport. Don't worry, you can easily get one.
