About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need a visa to leave Beijing airport for 4 hours?

I have a Canadian passport and am flying from Australia to Canada, changing planes in Beijing on the same day with an 8 hour layover. Do I need the 72 transit permit to leave the airport for a few hours to sight see?

Craig, as you are eligible for the 72h free transit policy, you can apply for it if you want to go out of the airport. The service is for free and you only need a few minutes to apply for it.
