Question

I'm taking the Guiyang-Guangzhou high speed train from Guiyang to Guilin North and stay only for 2 nights. My main purpose is to take the river raft from Yangdi to Xingping. I am undecided whether to stay in hotel in Guilin or YS to start my journey for the river raft. Please to hear your recommendation.Thank you

I suggest you take a bus to YS first, and then live there. Afterwards, you can start the raft. In the city, there are a lot of hotels available, and the landscape there is refreshing. You will like the environment there. BTW, you can drop by the countryside as well.

Both cities can be ok. If you arrive in Guilin late, just stay there. In the next morning, take a bus at Guilin General Bus Station to Yangdi (07:20, 08:20, 10:30, 11:30, 13:30). Head for Yangdi dock to experience the raft. Upon getting to Xingping Dock, take a free bus to Xingping Bus Station, where you can take a bus to YS. If wanting to YS, there are direct buses from Guilin North Station. At YS North Bus Station, take a bus to Yangdi to enjoy the raft.
