About:China Visa Application in UK

Visas needed for HK and Macau

I want to visit my English teacher friend in Zhuhai. I will be flying into Hong Kong. I will mostly be in Zhuhai but want to make visits to HK and also to nearby Macau. Do I need separate entry permits for mainland China, for HK and for Macau? Each time I vist Macau or HK does this count as an EXIT from mainland? Should i therefore get a multiple entrance 6 month type entry permit?

Hi Barrie, you don't need the entry permit for HK if you visit there for less than 14 days. For Macau and mainland PRC, you need separate entry permits. Macau entry permit can be obtained upon arrival while the one for mainland should be secured in advance.

Each time you visit Macau or HK counts as an exit from mainland, so if you travel frequently to Macau and HK, you are advised to get a six-month multi-entry permit for mainland.
