Chris, you don't need the HK entry permit. As for your girlfriend, she can apply through the PRC embassy in Vietnam. In case that the consular office doesn't accept her application, she can send the application documents to HK Immigration Office by posts. The address is: Receipt and Despatch Sub-unit, Hong Kong Immigration Department, 2/F, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai

HI Francis,

Appreciated your respond. How long does it need to get it approved at the embassy ?

As for the second option, how and what I need to prepare ? Can go I through travel agency to get it done ?
Lastly, my gf are not working, she doesn't own any property or have bank account. she is staying in a rental apartment. Would they approve it ?

Thank you and apologised for my ignorant.

Chris, if the embassy can deal with her application, it may only take four working days to process. If the application is transferred to HK, it needs four to six weeks. You can get a travel agency in HK to help your or apply on your own. The documents you need are your gf's passport copy, application form, passport-size photo, travel itinerary, round-trip tickets and hotel booking copies, and a financial support documents. If she can't provide the financial support proof, you can provide yours plus a letter stating that you will bear all the costs for the trip.

Hi ,

I have prepared all the documents and send to my girlfriends. She went to the travel agency in Ho Chi Minh and make the enquiry.
The Agent told her, it is not necessary to have all those documents. She just need her employment letter if she have it. They are able to apply for her for a cost of US 180 dollars and confirmed will get the visa. It will take 4 to 5 week. is this true ?

I think it's probably true. The agency may have some ways around the normal application method. The problem is that your gf is not working now, how could she provide an employment letter?

Hi Chris,

i'm originally from Hong Kong and my girlfriend is vietnamese. We are trying to get her a visa to visit hong kong and she is currently unemployed and we are living in China at the moment. Did you have any luck or any suggestions on how she would be able to get a HK tourist visa?

She can probably get HK visa as long as she makes full preparation. She should first prepare the relevant documents such as copy of her passport, the application form, a passport-style photo, proof of financial support, transportation and accommodation arrangement, and travel itinerary. Afterwards, submit the application to Beijing office of HK government to apply for HK tourist visa.
