work permit to spousal residence permit

Question

HiI'm working in Shanghai and am considering quitting my job. In the past, I had a spousal residence permit which was canceled when I received my work permit. How hard will it be to change my status again? Will I need to leave Shanghai and return to the States or will I be able to change my status within China? Thank you!

I think you can change your status again, as least you should have a try. As long as you try, you will have some chances to do it successfully. If you don't try, the possibility will be zero.
