But based on Google map, the travel time will be one hour if I will take the bus. Is this true? I'm planning to depart from Summer Palace after lunch so I won't catch the rush hour.Will it be faster if I will take a taxi? How long will be the travel time and how much will it costs?Thank you.

No, it is not true. They are only 9km between and the bus duration is at most half an hour. Of course a taxi shall be faster and it would take only around 15min. The taxi fare is no more than CNY30.
