About:Visa Policy of China

UK passport holder travelling for 7 day vacation, not part of a tour group,

Am I required to purchase an entry permit before arrival or is it possible to purchase a landing visa upon arrival at SYX and how much do they cost, is it an easy process, please advise

Susan, if you only plans to visit Hainan Island, you can apply for a VOA at SYX airport. It costs CNY 304 or so and the process is quite easy. It's advised that you apply for an L type in advance if possible in case that you cannot get the VOA.
