About:Shanghai Pudong Airport Bus to Nearby Cities

I am wondering how can I go from Shanghai Hongqiao or Pudong Airports to Nantong, Jiangsu.

I know that there's no trains available. So, is there any bus service? What would be the cost to go by taxi?

Thanks!

Well, there is only one train that operates between these two places. It departs at 12:31 from South Railway Station. The duration is about 9 hours. First class seat costs CNY167 and second class seat costs CNY140.

1. From Pudong Airport, you can take direct long-distance bus and go to Nantong. The schedules are 9:50, 12:00, 16:50 and 19:40 with the duration of around 3 hours.

2. From Hongqiao Airport, you can take subway line 10 to Hongqiao Road Station. Then transfer to line 3 to Main Railway Station, Exit 4. After arriving, walk northwest around 570 yards to arrive at General Bus Station. There are many long-distance buses that can take you to the destination.
The schedules are from 06:00 to 21:10 with the interval of around 40 mins. The ticket fare is CNY 65 per person.

3. It's not easy for you to get a taxi because of the long-distance. So you are suggested to hire a private car directly. The fare is generally CNY 200 to 300 for the single trip.

Where is this particular driver for 200~300 RMB from Pudong Airport to Nantong City Center?
Should I negotiate with the taxi driver after getting in the car, should I hire an agency at the airport? What's the best option?

Actually, there are many taxis providing long-distance car rental service. Upon arrival, follow the signs in English to find the taxi stands, then you can negociate with the driviers. As I know, the car rental fare from the airport to Nantong is far more than CNY200-300, the reasonable fee should be CNY500-600 around. Just settle the price with the driver before you get on the taxi.
