About:Forbidden City

Can you buy tickets for the forbidden city in advance at the gate?

e.g. buying the tickets in monday to go in on thursday?

I'm afraid not. You can buy the ticket on the spot for the same day. To ensure a smooth trip, it is best to reserve a ticket online in advance. BTW, except public holidays and summer holiday( 1st June – 31st August), the palace museum is closed on Monday.

There is a special website for the reservation, but as i know, it doesn't have an English version, you can ask your hotel staff or Chinese friends to help you with that. I remmeber the site seems to be "gugong.228". try it.
