About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

40 hour lay over, am I qualified for the 72 hours free visa transit?

I,m a U.S. Citizen,I have 40 hours lay over in pudong Shanghai , then I go to Manila. Is it possible to go Out of the airport.

Yes, you are qualified for the 72-hour free transit. During the 72-hour period, you are allowed to go out of the airport and travel within Shanghai.
