Are there any limits on who can apply for Double and Multi Entry visas?

I am studying in China for 6 months and require an X2 (less than 180 days of study). Will I be allowed to obtain a double or multi entry X2 so that I can visit other countries during school breaks?

Michael, according to my knowledge, X2 type is usually a single entry one. You can apply for a double or mulitple one. However, it's the consular officers who finally decide how many entries you will be granted.
