Generally, the downtown area is around People's Square. But the SMT can only take you to Longyang Road, where you need to transfer to subway line 2 to reach there. By the way, the SMT is available from 7:02 to 21:42 and Extra Shifts are at 22:15 and 22:40.

The earliest schedule of high-speed train from Hongqiao Railway Station to Nanchang West is at 06:30. So you are suggested to take a taxi to get to the railway station directly.
