U.S. Citizen here can I apply for a student X2 visa while in Seoul?

I am doing two study abroad programs. Because the second school didn't send me my acceptance letter, I had to apply for my visa for the summer. Now I'm in need of applying for my second visa for the fall, just got my acceptance letter. I still have one reentry left on my current one (allowing me to stay for 90 days). I have two questions. Do I need to leave the country and then reenter to reapply? 2ndly, I want to go to hongkong for a week, travel through south China for 10 days, then fly to Korea to a week. In Seoul Korea can I reapply as well?

Reuben, I don't suggest you apply from South Korea. You can try to get the X2 type from the Exit and Entry Administration Office of PSB. It's possible to get it.

Okay. Thank you. Now as for having one re-entry left. What should I do? Do I need to leave the country and reenter? Can I just go to the PSB? How long would it take for them to return my stuff?

Is there anyway to expedite it by paying extra? What does the cost look like?
