can i cancelchange an already delivered trainticket?

My son decided to stay in Chengdu. He has an already delivered ticket to Dali for today.Is it possible to cancel it or change the date of travel?Does he do this at the railway station or is there an online pssibility?

The ticket 2 days within the departure time cannot be changed to other date. You can only cancel it at railway station. Also they can only be returned before the departure time.
