About:China Visa on Arrival

Do I need a visa for 24 hour stay in Shanghai on Australian Passport?

My client is on a Celebrity cruise and will be in Shanghai for less than 24 hours. Does he need to get one before the cruise, or can he get it on board if he does an organised shore tour?

Liz, he is qualified for 24 hours free transit if her stay is less than 24 hours. However, he should consult with the cruise company. Just a few days ago, a guy was in the same situation. He said that the cruise company required him to apply for a Chinese entry permit. If not, he couldn't board the ship.
