About:Chinese Embassy in South Africa

As a South African passport holder, do i need a visa? If so, what documentation is required?

Hi I'm Smangaliso, I'll be attending a 3 day conference in Beijing in 3 months time.

Yes, you should apply for a F type. You need to get the invitation letter from the conference organizer. With this invitation letter, you can aply for a F type. Other documents are your passport, filled application form affixed with a recent six months' passport photo.
