About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

If I never leave the airport in China, do I need a Chinese Visa at All?

It depends on how long you stay and the flight itineraries. If you are eligible for the 24-hour or 72-hour free transit policy, then the transit permit is not requred and you can leave the airport during the layover time.
