Stopover in Beijing by air

Hi everyone,

I've never been to the city before but on my flight to Vietnam I have a 08h 45m stop over in PEK.

I was wondering:

1. Is 08h 45m enough to get to the city centre from the airport and take a few pictures and grab a bite to eat? We arrive at 11:45am and leave at 08:30pm

2. What's the best way to get to the city centre?

Thanks,
Catarina

Yes, surely you have enough time. To fulfill your trip, it is suggested to take a taxi to the downtown directly at a cost of around CNY100. Go to Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City for a sightseeing first (the Forbidden City is closed on Mondays). After that, take a taxi or subway line 1 to Wangfujing, which is the most famous pedestrian in the city. You can have a good dining and shopping there. Then go back to the airport by cab.
