staying a top on mt. huangshan

Question

My friends and I want to hike up to take a cable car halfway up the mountain and then hike the next half. Can we stay the night on the top of the mountain. Is this common or is it recommended that we come down?

Yes, of course you can stay the night on the top of the mountain. It is a very common thing, there are a lot of tourist doing like that. You can bring your own sleep bags or rent or just rent a tent on the mountaintop near Beihai Hotel. You are suggested to stay in the mountain through the night, and then you can see the sunrise in the morning.
