About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

LHR-PVG-HKG

Hi, we are due to arrive in PVG at 0755 on the Monday morning and due to fly out of PVG to HKG at 9:40 on the Thursday (73:45 hrs later). Would this be allowed under the 72hr rule?

Carl, this is a little bit risky, but it is still possible that you can get the 72-hour free transit. The 72 hours start from the time that you have gone through all necessary steps for getting the free transit, so actually you can stay longer. Anyway, you'd better vonfirm this with the airport immigration office.
