About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need to get a Visa? Need to bring any other ID besides US passport?

I will be taking a cruise with a stop in Shanghai from 7am-10pm. We will disembark in Hong Kong & while there plan to take a 12 hr tour to mainland China, tour company is getting a visa. We are US citizens. Do I need to get a Visa? Need to bring any other ID besides US passport?
Thank you!

Hi Deena! Will you you go to a third destination after your visit in Shanghai? If yes, you don't need to get it because the 24-hour direct transit policy is available to you. You US passport is enough to show your identity. Pther ID documents are not required.
