from hohhot to mongolian border at erlian

Would it be more convenient to travel from HHTto the Mongolianborder at Erlian by train or bus? I have heard both take a long time.Also, if anyone has been to Mongolia, is it possible to change Chinese renminbi to Mongolian tugruk?    Thank you..........Ramon Rodriguez Montalvo from Mexico

Well, there is direct train between these two places. The duration is about 9 hours. So it's actually a convenient way for you to choose. The ticket fare of soft class seat is CNY 179 per person. As I know, there is Money Exchange Counter at the Erlian Railway Station. And you can exchange enough Mongoliana Tugruk there. Don't worry.
