About:Mount Huashan

Can you still do the dangerous/exciting parts of Mt. Huashan if go at night? (avoid crowds in Jul.)

Hi I wanted to see a sunrise from the top and do the plank walks and all the scary things. As I understand there are 2 options?

1 - walk up very early leaving late at night; or
2 - walk up during the day and spend the night on the mountain and see the sunrise the next morning

Does walking up late at night diminish the beauty/appeal of the mountain and the amazing steps? Can you still do the plank walks etc if you go late at night?

Do you have any recommendations for accommodation on the mountain?

Thank you very much - yours is truly the best site/guide on the mountain!!!

If you want to see the sunrise, the best way is to walk up the mountain at night, setting off at 22:00 around. When you reach the east peak, it happens the sunrise time. And then go down in the noon.
The dangerous hanging plank road is closed at night, so you can experience them before you go down at noon.

As I know, there are few accommodations available, and they are in poor quality. Most visitors will rent heavy long coat to spend the night. If you taking the mode I suggest, you don’t need accommodation, for you will spend the whole night climbing the mountain.
