About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Canada to Beijing, Beijing to Bangkok. Do I qualify for 72 hr visa?

If I qualify for the 72 hour transit, do I need to report to the police station in Beijing? If so where is it?
I want to take a day trip to the Great Wall. Is this OK? How do you recommend getting there? Thank-you.

Jane, if your flight doesn't stop by any other Chinese city, then you are qualified for 72 hours free transit. You needn't report to the PSB. After landing, you just need to follow the instructions to apply for the free transit.

Yes, you can do a day trip to the wall. If you come for the first time, I think you may visit Badaling section. You can choose to take no.877 bus from Deshengmen to the wall or S2 train from Beijng North Railway Station.
