one-day trekking on mt. huashan possible?

Question

Hi, is it possible to make trek the mountain up and down within one day? I would stay in Xian and take the bus to the mountain, and I saw that the first bus would leave at 8AM and take 3 hours to get to the mountain. So, the trekking would start at 11AM and I need to catch the bus back to Xian in the evening. Is this possible? Or any suggestions?

For you sake, I suggest you climb on the mountain and take the cable car down to catch the last bus (at 17:00 indeed) back to Xian. The first bus actually leaves from the railway station at 07:00 (tourist bus line 1 leaves at 08:00 and it only has the only schedule). It takes around 2 hours to the mountain. Then you need to spend 5-6 hours or longer on hiking as well as seeing the scenery. So time is tight if you hike down. And I highly recommend you prepare enough water.
