About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Visiting Shanghai for approximately 36 hours and then onward to HKG, eligible for free transit?

Dear,

Just wanted to see if I understood it correct.
Traveling from Schengen (citizen there) on a direct flight and will visit our office in Shanghai for almost two days of meetings. Then directly to Hong Kong for other meetings and back to Schengen

Please confirm that I understood it correctly that I could use the the transit visa during my visit since only staying in Shanghai and under 72 hours. Arrival and departure will from same city.

Thanks.
