About:Chinese Consulate in Chicago

I've been told as a US citizen I need a visa. What kind do I need to get?

I work for Royal Caribbean International on one of their cruise ships doing entertainment lighting. The ship will be sailing out of china for six months while I'm on it.

So you just transit in PRC or stay there for a while? If you just transit there, you just need to apply for a G type, which is usually valid for 7 days. If you stay there for a certain period, I think you should apply for a tourist type.

I'll be in an out of PRC every four or five days, depending on the cruise. There's a couple of times I'll be overnighting in the country. I was looking at getting a C type.
