visa apply in hong kongmacau china embassy?

Hi. I am holding Malaysia Passport and live in Taiwan now. I'm about to book a ticket from Taiwan to Shanghai on July, what is the best way I can get the visa?Can i apply it through the China Embassy in Hong Kong or Macau?

Priscilla, if possible, you had better go back to Malaysia to do the application because the requirements in Hong Kong and Macau become more strict in recent years. However, if it is inconvenient to go back, you can either apply in Hong Kong or Macau. Before going there, please get contact with the commissioner office of PRC Foreign Affairs Ministry and make sure you can apply.
