About:China Customs Declaration

I wanted to bring just one iPhone for one of my friends in China.

Do I need to declare it? If I do, do I need to pay tax for it and how much the tax will be?

Maggie, you shouldn't have a problem if you just bring one into PRC. However, sometimes the customs officers might be very strict. If they find out, then you will be required to pay the tax, 10 percent of its price. The safest way is to put its box in your checked luggage and then take the phone with you.
