About:Prohibited Items

Do any of the food restrictions apply if I am just in transit at Shanghai Airport for a few hours?

I am gluten-free and plan to have some home-made snacks with me for personal consumption on the plane and in transit. These snacks will be made from nuts, seeds, coconut, pulses and likely dairy products and may either be cooked or raw. Can I bring these with me and will I need to declare them even if I am just in transit?

Fiona, cooked snacks made from the ingredients you mentioned should be ok. But I am afraid that you may not bring uncooked, to play it safe.
