Flying thru 2 cities will 72h visa apply?

I will fly to Russia from NZ and will stop first time in Hong Kong at 11Jul then fly to Beijing at the same day and will leave Beijing at 13Jul, can this 72h free transit apply for those 2 cities (that is within 72 hours anyway)?
Regards,

Hi Alex, even you transit two Chinese cities, you can enjoy this 72-hour free transit policy, because Hong Kong is regarded as a third region when it comes to immigration affairs.

It's right that you can stay 3 days in Beijing. But as a New Zealand passport holder, you can stay in HK for up to 90 days without the entry permit.
