About:China Visa on Arrival

If my tourist visa will be stamped on my current passport, will it still be valid even if I renewed?

Hello there. I am planning to visit a friend in China this coming August and I'm currently on the process of getting my passport renewed. I am a Philippine passport holder and currently residing in Dubai. I was thinking of getting a tourist type before I renew as it my take time for the new passport to be released and I don't want to apply too close to my trip. Is it fine or shall I wait until I receive my new passport? Thanks a bunch!

Previously, foreigners in your situation can enter with their old and new passports. However, according to some Chinese embassies, entry permits on the old passports are not acknowleged now. So I think it's safer to apply with your new passport.

Don't worry. You can apply your Chinese entry permits around one month ahead of your trip. In fact, it takes just around 4 working days. Some people even apply one or two weeks in advance.
