Holding Work Permit and residence permit Issued in Beijing

I have been working in Beijng with Z visa and residence permit for 4 years. renewed on a yearly basis. Currently I will need to be transferred and relocated to work and live in Guangzhou in May by the same company on a valid Z type and residence permit issued from Beijing. Work permit expiring by June 9, while residence permit expiring in end of June. So I will have to renew my Z type and residence permit in Guangzhou; will that be considered a totally new application and will medical examination be required. As while working in Beijng, the extension and renewal and permit is hassle free.
