Is it easy for a woman to travel around in Liaoning on her own?

Hi
I've a week to spare after a business trip in Beijing. I was originally planning to join a friend in Lijiang but she aborted her plan last minute. So I'm now designing my own trip for a week.

Is it better I join a tour? I don't see one listed here and am not about to pay an arm and a leg to get an exclusive tour with driver and guide.

Any suggestions and advice.

If your mandarin is hard for basic talking, you are suggested to join a tour, which will save you much trouble and money.

For safety and public transportation considerations, there will be no problem for you to travel by yourself. But mind that ppl don't speak English very well.

Thanks for the replies. I speak relatively fluent Mandarin. So I guess I should manage well.
