Hello, I am planning travel the Silk Road in October 2015

by train and bus, starting in Xian, and ending in Kashgar, with main interest in less travelled South Silk Route, following the path of Ella Maillard and Peter Fleming.

I would like to know if I can find some transportation (bus, minibus, group travel) that goes from Turpan to Charklik. I have been several times in China (although main cities) and I know the difficulties of travelling there.

BTW, if some fellow traveller is interested, please feel free to contact me through this web page (they will forward)

Carlos

You need to go from Turpan to Korla first, both long-distance bus (duration is about 4 hours) and train (duration 5-6 hours) are available. Upon arrival, take a bus from Korla Long-distance Bus Center to Charklik (duration about 6 hours).
