Travelling while my passport is in the PSB
Hello - I hope you can help me.
I work for a company based in Zhongshan, Guangdong and do consulting work around the country. As such I travel a lot. I have just arrived back in China on a new Z Visa and went to the PSB today to turn this into the Temporary Residence Permit. I was told while I was there that this would take two weeks (fine) but that I can't travel in mainland China during this time. This confused me - I have lived in China for a number of years and have always been able to travel (including flights and g-trains) while my passport is at the PSB using the chopped PSB receipt. Have the regulations changed? Is this a specific policy for Guangdong province or even Zhongshan city? Any advice would be appreciated as I really need to be in Beijing for work next week!
Thanks
