Paul, you need to apply for a Z type. But you need to find an employer first and ask him/her to help you apply for the work permit. Then you can apply for the Z tye from the CVASC center. After you arrive in PRC with your Z type, you need to apply for the employment certificate and then change your Z type into a temporary resident permit within 30 days.0
