Is it rude to stand or lay down your chopstick on a stand that holds the chopsticks?

Devin, you can lay down the chopsticks but you shouldn't stand your chopsticks in your bowl or a dish. Also there are some other taboos.
1. don't use your chopsticks to stir the dishes. You just use it to pick up what you want to eat.
2. don't put your chopsticks in your mouth when you talk to others.
3. don't use your chopsticks to point at others.
